A Day Late

OK so maybe more than just a day late but better late than never-hopefully.

We have had some really fun engagement sessions over the past few months. It is so great to have a chance to connect with our brides and grooms to be. We love it when they give us a peek at their personalities, a look at their love, and a window into their wedding day. Here are just a few of our favorites.  

  

 

 
   

Trading June for January

What a great way to start a year.  We had the privilege of photographing a beautiful January wedding with a brave bride, a good natured groom, a willing wedding party, and two fantastic families.They braved the cold and snow with ready smiles (and maybe numb toes) for that we were thankful - the smiles that is.  Here are some of the results....makes you want to plan a winter wedding, maybe?

 

  
 
  

You are autumn

I know I'm a little behind the ball to be blogging about the season of fall when our streets are covered with snow. But I didn't want to miss the opportunity to share the beautiful colors that we had this fall. Every year I am in awe of the colors God paints our earth. I am always reminded of his power, faithfulness, and beauty as I watch the seasons change. As we made the transition from fall to winter I was reminded of the song Every Season by Nicole Nordeman....

And even when the trees have just surrendered 
To the harvest time 
Forfeiting their leaves in late September 
And sending us inside 
Still I notice You when change begins 
And I am braced for colder winds 
I will offer thanks for what has been and was to come 
You are autumn

And everything in time and under heaven 
Finally falls asleep 
Wrapped in blankets white, all creation 
Shivers underneath 
And still I notice you 
When branches crack 
And in my breath on frosted glass

Wrapped Up

Location, Location, Love

What love looks like

O.K. so it's been about 5 weeks since the day of the wedding but with several weddings during those specific weeks it takes a little time to sort the best of the best. Kim and Josh were so much fun and we wish them the very best.  Here is a glimpse into their day, enjoy.

The whole time I was editing Kim and Mike's pictures I kept seeing this story board fall into place. The fun energy you see simply sums up their personalities!

 

The smiles that never ended

My Photo shoot in Grand haven was such a treat. Extended family pictures are usually a "to do" for most families. However, this family were great sports and were willing to try anything. After the session was finish Dominic (the little boy) asked me to take more pictures of him, which led to his sisters wanting more of just them as well. I'm telling their smiles never ended! Which was good for me their smiles were fun to capture!
